Prem is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. During his postdoctoral tenure, he spent a semester as an Academic Visitor at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. He is currently working on a book titled “Stakeholder Capitalism: The Definitive Guide” with Ed Freeman.

His research is currently under review at leading journals, including the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Perspectives, and Academy of Management Collections. He was honored with the People’s Choice Award at the 2024 Postdoctoral Research Symposium (Lightning Talk Competition) at the University of Virginia for his presentation, “A Framework for Understanding and Resolving Pseudoscience Crisis.”

His first paper on “Creating Shared Value,” published in the International Journal of Management Reviews, was recognized as one of Wiley’s most cited and most downloaded papers (2021–2022). His paper, “The Unsung Role of Non-profit Organizations in Value Creation,” received the Best Ph.D. Student Paper Award at the World Open Innovation Conference (2019).

Prem holds a Ph.D. in Management (Passed with Excellent Grade) from LUISS Guido Carli University, Rome. During his doctoral studies, he was a visiting student at Boston College. He also earned a Master’s degree in Business Management (110 cum laude/110) from Sapienza University of Rome, where he was awarded an Erasmus scholarship to study for two semesters at Södertörn University, Stockholm, Sweden.
