Interviews play a critical role in our assessment of candidates and are required prior to acceptance into the program.Open InterviewsApplicants who apply in the Early Action round have the option to schedule their interview during the open interview period and do not need to wait for an invitation. Please only schedule an interview if you intend to apply by the Early Action deadline of Friday, 7 September 2018. In order to be considered for admission, your application must be submitted and the application fee paid.Interview times will be available online in mid-July and filled on a first come, first served basis. Times will be available following the EA deadline until Friday, 28 September 2018 as well. Applicants who live in the domestic U.S. must interview in person at Darden. If you live outside the domestic U.S., you are welcome to interview on the Darden Grounds but are not expected to do so. We offer interviews via Skype for those living outside the U.S.Interview slots are limited so we kindly ask that you schedule your interview only if you intend to submit a completed application by 7 September 2018. Prepare to be flexible based on interview availability.Steps to Sign Up for Early Action Interview: Start Early Action Application and complete the "Who are you?" page. An email will be sent to you containing a link to a web page where you can register for an interview. Click on that link. Select a day and time that works for you. If prompted, log in with the same email and password you created when you created your application. Upload your resume. Provide an answer to the following short answer question: "Tell us what you would want your learning team to know about you — personal, professional or both." (100 words maximum) Click SubmitInvitation-Only InterviewsFor those who apply in Rounds 1, 2 or 3, an invitation-only interview is conducted after your application has been submitted and reviewed by the admissions committee. Invitations to interview are sent on a rolling basis up to and including the decision release date for each round. There is no significance as to when an interview invitation is sent; an invitation to interview should be seen as positive indicator no matter when it is received.Domestic ApplicantsCandidates living in the U.S. must interview on the Darden Grounds with a member of the admissions staff or Student Admissions Committee. Applicants coming to Darden for an interview will have the opportunity to attend office hours with various departments, tour the Darden School with current students and go to lunch with faculty members. More information about interview day activities will be sent to you after your interview is scheduled. International ApplicantsCandidates living abroad are welcome to interview on the Darden Grounds, but are not expected to do so. International interviews are conducted by alumni or admissions committee members traveling overseas or through Skype. Interview FormatOur interviews are 30–45 minutes in length and your interviewer will not have read or reviewed your application or résumé.
